The Bebe Fountain Pen in Café Au Lait with E-Formed Detail

Cream-bone is the canvas for hand-painted bronze, white, black and large holographic flakes that move from rose gold to gold to sky blue. An older Bebe, the last of the only run of hand-painted pens I’ve ever done. I couldn’t bear to throw it away, and so stored it until I could take that flaw and make it something beautiful. The cap was hand-hollowed for the new liners, hand carved, and then heavily electroformed in three different rounds before being given spot plating, also by hand, with 24k gold. It was then re-sealed, hand sanded to a soft shine, and buffed. This pen has surface texture in the finish, both from the hand-painting and a result of extensive hand finishing every last detail while trying to preserve as much detail as possible. The cap closes and seals, but there is a small gap between the body and cap when closed as a result of the metalwork. DO NOT overtighten or you will crack the cap.

These pens are considered functional art. They write like any other pen, and the caps seal, but as with any art piece, additional care is needed: It is recommended that they be stored (ie: not left in your purse or briefcase or loose on your desk) when not in use.
