Colorway

Aegean Sea
Shimmering turquoise amid deeper sea blues as the foundation resin. A flaw in the cap resin discovered while turning provided an entry point for creating a one-of-a-kind electroformed fissure modification – taking the flaw, and extending it around the cap with micro hand carving tools, before carefully encouraging the organic development of the copper base layer, and then adding bright nickel plating to better match the cool blue resin.

These pens are considered functional art. They write like any other pen, and the caps seal, but as with any art piece, additional care is needed: It is recommended that they be stored (ie: not left in your purse or briefcase or loose on your desk) when not in use.

Markov's Notes:

“The Bebe Fountain Pen was designed from the ground up to be my personal daily writer. I wanted a lightweight, well-balanced fountain pen with a bit of length on it, but with the weight balanced in the lower half. It needed to be lightweight enough to stay comfortable for pages of notes, but chonky enough to withstand the inevitable rough and tumble of being shoved in my back pocket, the bottom of my bag, and being accidentally tossed across the room a few times. I inverted the traditional cigar shaped ends on the body and cap to give my fingers a built-in worry stone for when I was lost in thought. Each Bebe uses my hallmark tough and lightweight glass-touch material. The end result is a pen that, even if I was fishing it out of the bottom of my bag, still looks like elegant, functional art. Years later, the Bebe prototype remains my daily writer.”
